God Delights in You – by Mike Bickle

The Lord your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing. —Zephaniah 3:17

I lived under crushing condemnation as I struggled under the misconception that God had judged me as a failure. Yet God was not focused on my failures; He saw the value of my sincere, yet failed, desire to please Him. He was delighting in me.

{ PRAYER STARTER }

Thank You, Father, for looking beyond my failure to my heart. I really do long to do Your will. Teach me how to do it, and reveal Your plan for my life. I am Yours, Lord, all Yours. Use me any way You desire. Amen.

I was only beginning to understand His affection for me,
even in the midst of my spiritual failure and immaturity.

Simplicity and Wonder

Truly I tell you, whoever does not receive and accept and welcome the kingdom of God like a little child [does] positively shall not enter it at all. Mark 10:15 AMP

Walk with God in 2011 as a child. Never lose the simplicity of trust and the world of wonder that a child lives in from day to day. Walk with your eyes on your Father – happy in His presence, content in His care, awed by His greatness, delighted by His purposes, secure in His love.

May you never lose the simplicity of trusting His love and the wonder of watching Him work in marvelous ways.

Into the World Came

Enjoy this poem by Roy Lessin

God’s purest Light to show us the way;
God’s perfect Savior to free us from sin;
God’s tender Shepherd to care for our needs;
God’s sure Foundation to make us secure;
God’s fullest Joy to give us a song;
God’s broken Bread to satisfy our hunger;
God’s conquering King to rule in our hearts;
God’s healing Fountain to make us whole;
God’s highest Purpose to fulfill our longings;
God’s quieting Peace to bring us rest;
God’s redeeming Love to make us His own.

They will call him Immanuel, which means “God is with us.” Matthew 1:23 NLT

Chili Rellenos

Chili Rellenos

The day was cold, and my husband asked me to help him assemble one of our favorite easy recipes. I mixed the eggs, flour and milk and he grated the cheese.
I decided to strain the egg mixture over the finished product to get out any flour lumps.
Here is our favorite recipe and quick to fix.

Chili Rellenos Easy and Simple

1, 7oz can chopped chilles (Ortega)
½ cup grated Cheddar cheese
½ cup grated Jack cheese
2 T flour
2 eggs
1 can evaporated milk
1, 8 oz can tomato sauce

Sprinkle ½ chilles in a 9×12 Pyrex baking dish. Layer the cheddar cheese next.
Add the rest of the chilles. Top layer is the Monterey Jack cheese.
Beat eggs, flour and milk in a bowl and pour over the top of the mix in the pan.
Bake 30 minutes at 350 degrees. Then pour over the top, the can of tomato sauce.
And bake 15 minutes more. Let stand 10 minutes and serve.

We cut any left over into serving size pieces and wrap and freeze.

When You Feel Overwhelmed by Holly Gerth

Demands knock on my door.
Burdens beckon me to answer.
The to-do list stretches for miles.

I whisper, “I feel overwhelmed.”
And in the stillness it seems I hear…

“Child, open your heart to Me
instead of the demands of the day.
Lay those burdens at My feet, not on your shoulders.
Let go of your list and dare to embrace My grace.
I do not require you to be overwhelmed.
I enable you to overcome.
And with Me, you always will.”

I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world. John 16:33

I Need a WORD

I NEED A WORD

Here lately it seems that GOD isn’t talking very much or doesn’t have very much to say to me. It may be because that when he speaks, I’m not listening.

As I go around Christian people some are always saying; “GOD told me” this and that. To hear them talk they have a pipeline to heaven where they have an ongoing dialogue with GOD and they converse with HIM constantly getting directions for all they do.

This may be true because GOD isn’t talking to me that much and the reason may be because others have all HIS attention and he is too busy to get around to me. Or it may not be true and they are having a self induced conversation with an imaginary friend.

Do we from time to time get a word from the LORD? The answer is simply stated, yes we do.

A recent example of how this works in my own life was before I went to sleep the other night I was thinking; “GOD is sure quite lately,” that is, HIM speaking within me, and I decided to pray about this, so I said; “LORD I would like a word of encouragement or instruction or something.”

As I laid there a word came to me that I didn’t want to hear, and that was – –

“You need to pray for your leaders.”

Now I knew the scriptures that admonished Christians to hold up and pray for the leadership of this country, and up out of my memory came the scripture 1 TIM 2 :1-2 I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity.

I got what I asked for a word from GOD confirmed by the scripture but I didn’t like it.
The last thing I wanted to do was pray for our sitting president because I don’t like where he is leading us.

After settling down I began to see a different picture, I saw a man who is far over his head with responsibility, and he needs GOD’S help more than he realizes.

Whether he will humble himself and follow GOD’S leading is not my responsibility, my job is to do what GOD has directed me to do, and that is to pray for him. The next part was to pray for the Congress, that peace shall be in those chambers. That within their disagreements there shall always be unity, and one body with one agenda, and that is the good for the citizens of this country.

Well agree or disagree it’s of no matter as long as the spirit of unity is preserved. Listen to the song below, and even if you disagree with my rant it will bless you and make up for my lack of ability to bless! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6KUmDuQP1mQ&feature=related

Should we Forgive God ?

   (Excerpted from: R.T. Kendall)

 The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in him. Nahum 1:7

Although we often do not see it at first—and for some it takes a longer time—all of our bitterness is ultimately traceable to a resentment of God. This may be an unconscious anger. Some “good” people would be horrified at the thought that they could be harbouring bitterness toward God. But we often repress this, too; such knowledge is too painful to admit.

The truth is, our bitterness is often aimed at God. Why do we feel this way? Because deep in our hearts we believe that He is the one who allowed bad things to happen in our lives. Since He is all powerful and all knowing, couldn’t He have prevented tragedies and offences from happening? What we ultimately believe is that God is to blame for our hurt.

God does turn evil into blessing. He causes things to work together for good. God did not send His Son into the world to explain evil, but rather to save us from it and to exemplify a life of suffering. Jesus, who was and is the God man, suffered as no one else has or ever will. One day God will clear His own name from the charge of being unjust, but in the meantime, we need to trust Him and take Him at His Word that He is just and merciful.

For all of us who struggle with God’s right to allow evil to exist in the world, there still must be a genuine forgiveness on our part, for any bitterness toward God grieves the Holy Spirit. He was never guilty in the first place, but because He sometimes appears to us to have been unfair, we must relinquish our bitterness and wholly forgive Him before we can move on with our lives.

Excerpted from Total Forgiveness (Charisma House, 2002).
